Item 1 – <\/strong>Subscriptions<\/strong><\/p>\n

A big Thank You to the twenty branch members who are up to date with their annual subscriptions.<\/p>\n

If you are in the majority of members in arrears then would you please forward your \u00a32 Annual subscription?<\/a>\u00a0You can use e-banking or send a cheque to Mike Gater, the treasurer.<\/p>\n

Item 2 – Active Membership<\/strong><\/p>\n

Paying subscriptions is one way of showing the branch support\u00a0but it\u00a0also helps us, and the REA to gauge its active members. \u00a0Recently membership of ex-service organisations like us\u00a0has taken on\u00a0increasing importance,\u00a0as the\u00a0health and welfare of the military community and the services which support the\u00a0military covenant\u00a0are under the spotlight.<\/p>\n

Veterans Organisations like the REA need to be able to respond with accurate information and must be able to gauge their\u00a0size, and impact and also maintain contact with\u00a0the community.<\/p>\n

Social Media<\/strong><\/p>\n

Social Media like Facebook\u00a0is a great way to keep in touch\u00a0and more and more members and non members of the branch are showing up\u00a0this way.\u00a0On Facebook\u00a0the REA recently called for sapper social media participants to keep an eye out for ex sappers who could be in difficulty and to feed back information.<\/p>\n

Active Membership Information<\/strong><\/p>\n

The difficulty of tracking which branch members are Active within the REA was highlighted this year. \u00a0The branch can only contribute sensibly to the annual REA Membership Census if it has reliable up to date information. \u00a0This year \u00a0the branch concluded it must\u00a0work to\u00a0improve its membership information before the next census.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, all members are requested to please complete the update form HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This will help to fill a number of gaps and improve communications going forward.<\/p>\n
