80 Meters<\/strong><\/p>\n

In order of appearance on 80m were; Jack, Gordon, Mike and myself.\u00a0\u00a0Derek found us\u00a0and called in after\u00a0we moved to six.<\/p>\n

80 metres at 0730 (LT) was difficult at times with very deep qsb causing some signals to go from five and nine down to nuffin.<\/p>\n

There was the usual interference from\u00a0continental stations, but they didn’t cause us much of a problem.<\/p>\n

After the move to six metres\u00a0at eight o’clock, signals were\u00a0marginally better, the five-and-nines lasting longer\u00a0and\u00a0the deep qsb not quite so deep.\u00a0 The noise level on both bands\u00a0hovered around strength six at this station.<\/p>\n

Old Comrades<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thanks to Derek for information of an old friend –\u00a0Geordie Rose, very much appreciated.<\/p>\n

Other matters including the Model Engineering Exhibition at Harrogate<\/a>, Airborne Engineers meeting at Wakefield,<\/p>\n

various hobby and gardening subjects were discussed.\u00a0 And if you want more details then you should try getting out of bed on a Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Jack – whilst you are\u00a0fixing the HRO PSU’s vibrator, you may like to know there is a company that\u00a0supplies kits\u00a0to convert\u00a0old vibrators to solid state ones.\u00a0If you wish I will send on the details.<\/p>\n
