Prior to making any scheduled contact it is advisable to check band conditions

The LAMP Charts and others provided by the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology are particularly useful

Notes:

Clansman Dial USB frequencies are 2Khz higher than your amateur transceiver or other HF radios and this is often the source of confusion.  To denote when a clansman frequency is being quoted, or make it clear, we either;  assume it is a clansman dial frequency,  put a C in front of it, or state Clansman or Actual.

With thanks to: HF Pack, VMARS and RSGB

Many organisations run AM and SSB Nets including VMARS – please consult their operating times and schedules.  (with thanks to Stuart – G0TBI)
